The Westbury Park Art Trail is a community event that forms part of the Westbury Park Festival. Its primary purpose is to bring the community together and to act as a showcase for art from the local area. While many artists do sell work on the trail, we make the point that visitors are welcome at venues to look at the artwork without feeling the need to buy anything.

The following guidelines have been drawn up to explain criteria for membership of the trail:
1. We think it is important that visitors can cover all of the trail on foot. For this reason, trail venues will be located within the Westbury Park boundary, as shown in the map below (the North end of the area has been squared off along Springfield Grove). Both sides of boundary roads are included in the area.
2. Artists living within the boundary can become part of the trail and can choose whether to open their own home to visitors, exhibit in the home of other artists or exhibit in one of the public venues. Priority will be given to them for spaces in public venues. We hope that they will participate actively in the preparation for and running of the event, in true community spirit, rather than seeing it merely as an opportunity to sell their work.
3. Artists living outside the boundary can ask to join the trail and will be particularly welcomed for their contribution to the community aspect of the trail. This includes joining in with committee activities where possible, bringing ideas for making their part in the trail appealing to the public and injections of fresh input to keep the trail vibrant year on year. Artists from outside the boundary will need to find a venue at which to exhibit from amongst host artists within the area or at a public venue if there is room. We shall help with this as far as possible.
4. There is no official limit on numbers and we expect this to happen naturally as a result of the boundary but a figure of 50 will be kept in mind for this year and reviewed next year.
5. Anything that can be classified as ‘Art’ can be included in the trail, eg crafts and art experiences.
